Any outrageous deals in the city? I've seen some decent deals but nothing too impressive especially for this economy.

I was thinking of posting this question as well.
For as bad as things are, you would think that there would be better deals out there.
I am looking for 2 or 3 nights in the city (4 Star or Higher) in August. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're looing to break the $100. mark, I think you are out of luck. I've seen a couple of 4 star hotels in the lower $100. area, but that's about it.

Are you looking just four star and higher or are you open to three star hotels?

Doubletree Metropolitan Hotel in Midtown has a few $119. rates on 7/26, 8/23, 8/30, all Sundays. I've never been there, but it looks very nice, and it is a four-star.

Except by accident or miracle, you're not going to find anything in the four-star range for under $100. in Manhattan. Over at BiddingforTravel.com I saw one Priceline bid that went for $100. That is the absolute lowest over the past few months.
Having said that, this is Manhattan, not Vegas. A four-star in the lower $100 range is a fantastic deal. If this is too steep, try looking in the Hoboken and Jersey City areas. There is a subway (PATH train) that can get you into the city in 5 minutes.
Good luck.

You can kiss the $100 rooms goodbye now that we've hit September.
